Georges René Lecomte was born in Paris and studied under
Bouvard and Eugène Lelièvre. He exhibited in numerous
exhibitions, beginning in 1927 and continuing until 1953.
Characteristic of Lecomte's work is his attention to detail and hand-finishing 'au marteau' (hammered), leaving a beautifully
planished surface.
