Intros, endings and initial letters specially designed by the famous draftsman, engraver, and painter academician L. E. Dmitriev-Kavkazsky, helio engravings are made in one of the best publishing houses of St. Petersburg – the Association of R. Golike and A. Vilborg; color illustrations in the photozincography of S. M. Prokudin-Gorsky. ‘During the anniversary celebrations the book was widely used as a gift. However, nowadays it is quite rare: after October 1917 the majority of the specimens were lost being destroyed either by the owners or along with their owners.
