Artist opened to many mediums, Wicks started his career working at the NASA.
During World War II, he worked for Lockheed and realized artworks for fighters
and bombers, which were used for propaganda. He made illustrations for numerous
magazines such as Esquire, Redbook, Saturday Evening Post or Coronet and also did
some advertising work for different brands and Casinos. Wicks’s art mainly revolves
around women, planes and wings, which became his signature over time.
