Boris Konstantinovich Zaitsev (1881-1972) was a Russian writer and translator, one of the last major figures of the Silver age. After having been infected typhoid fever in 1922, he received permission to travel abroad with his family for treatment. In the 1930s, Boris Zaitsev was one of the most respected writers of the "older" generation of emigration. A collection of memoir essays, first published in Paris in 1939. Provenance: Nikolai Yegorovich Dronnikov (b. 1930) - Russian artist, painter and graphic artist, sculptor, publisher of author's books. Since 1972 he was living in Paris. Enjoyed informal title of "chronicler of the Russian emigration".
