Loiseau was first exhibited at the Salon des Indé- pendants in 1893, at the Salon de la Société Natio- nale in 1895 and in numerous Impressionists shows between 1890 and 1896. There, he fraternized with artists such as Paul Gauguin and Émile Bernard. He often depicted the same garden scenes as the sea- son went by, directly influenced by Claude Monet. Temporary exportation, a subject to import tax.
