Signed (lower right) Chalk and pastel on paper 17.50 x 25.12 inches Italian painter and illustrator notable for his genre subjects. Trained at the Academia di Belle Arti of Naples and influenced by Domenico Morelli (1823-1901), Ferraguti did numerous pastel studies in Venice but also liked to paint dance scenes, which were one of his favorite subjects. He taught pastel painting in Pallanza and attended various Salons nearby the Villa Cordielia of Giuseppe Treves around 1895.
