Album (28 x 38 cm) containing 197 silver prints and 1 colour photochrom, very good tonal range and in ne condition, dimensions range from 7 x 8 cm to 7 x 17 cm, French captions. Contemporary beige cloth, gilt lettering to spine and upper cover, moire endpapers.
Fine album containing amateur travel photographs that show places of interest, local people and panoramas of the main cities in Russia and Central Asia. Among others there are photographs of Moscow and St. Petersburg (15 prints), Georgia (24, including a few ne views of Ti is), nowadays Azerbaijan and Baku’s oil elds (6), cities on the Silk Road in nowadays Uzbekistan, in particular Samarkand and its lively market, but also Bukahara and a train station (42), Crimea (9) and Turkey, showing especially the Bosphorus, Istanbul and unusual panoramas of Bursa (54), as well as two images of Cossacks. The album closes on a few photographs of Greece, Athens, Capri and the Vesuve.
