Hermitage Fine Art would like to thank all bidders who participated in the successful auction featuring Art Nouveau, Art Deco, 20th century Design Objects and Jewellery. The affluence in the room for both preview and sale was rewarding and the auction reached great results in all categories.

ART NOUVEAU & ART DECO

As expected, the great artist Erté reached good results with his Coat design for Henri Bendel (lot 1) sold for 4389 € and the Cover design for Harper’s Bazaar (lot 23) which made 1000 €. In the category of paintings, worth mentioning are also lot 12 by the artist Alphonse Germain-Thill, sold for 6075, € and lot 17, the watercolour Lykas, The Songs of Bilitis by George Barbier that made 1620 €.

Objects reached an even greater success, seeing two beautiful flasks by Emile Gallé being sold for 5850 € and 3900 €, an Art Nouveau porcelain vase by Georges de Feure (lot 26) fetching 10,400 € and an exceptional decorative vase by Henri Lapin and Anne-Marie Fontaine getting 11,700 € (lot 39). The sculpture Snake dancer by the Polish-born Samuel Lipshitz (lot 50) was sold for 4290 €.
SILVER, DECORATIVE OBJECTS AND JEWELLERY

Among many others, a beautiful 12-persons silver set carrying the mark of the master Pavel Ovchinnikov fetched almost 12,000 € (lot 85), a fine Cartier suede clutch bag featuring a tortoiseshell clasp was sold for 3375 € (lot 93) and lot 102, an Art Deco jade, emerald and coral saucer accompanied by its malachite, coral and onyx cup fetched almost 4000 €. A bidding fight among multiple bidders rose the selling price of a splendid Hermes ashtray (lot 105) to 532 €, quintupling its estimate.

The Jewellery section featured some elegant pieces, witnessing many good sales, among which that of a beautiful pair of yellow gold and diamond earrings for 11,970 € (lot 119) and of a pair of erotic silver cufflinks (lot 131) that reached the impressive selling price of 1 215,00 €.
