Ce lot est une des premières esquisses théâtrales connues de Bakst: grâce à Diaghilev, Bakst fait ses débuts dans les arts de la scène à Saint-Pétersbourg, plus précisément dans le ballet, dont 'Le Cœur de la Marquise' en 1902.
