Giuseppe Cades was an Italian painter, sculptor and engraver from the second half of the 18th century. He enjoyed great success as a designer and decorator, despite a fairly short career, and remained one of the great figures of Roman painting at the end of the 18th century. Giuseppe Cades illustrates the transition from late Baroque to Neoclassicism and can even be seen as a precursor of Romanticism.
