Size 17,5 x 23,5 cm Federico Fellini is an Italian fi lm director and screenwriter born in Rimini on 20 January 1920 and died in Rome on 31 October 1993. He is one of the greatest and most famous Italian directors of the XXᵉ century and one of the most illustrious fi lmmakers in the history of cinema, along with Charlie Chaplin, Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurosawa, John Ford, Jean Renoir, Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles. He won the Palme d’Or at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival for La dolce vita and four times the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in Hollywood, a record he shares with his compatriot Vittorio De Sica.
