Gouache, ivory, mid-XVIII century. 23,5 x 19, 5 cm. The miniature was painted before Elizabeth's enthronement. There is an inscription in Italian on the reverse side of the portrait: Queen Elizabeth, daughter of Peter the Great, after the portrait of Louis Michel van Loo (1707-1771), an artist of Louis XV. Based on the original of the lost portrait of Elizabeth Petrovna (possibly by Louis Michel van Loo). The portrait depicts the Princess before her enthronement. In the Peterhof Palace there is a portrait of the Empress created around 1760 by Charles Andre van Loo (1705-1765), uncle of Louis Michel van Loo.
