In Yury Terapiano’s words, «there was no other poet amomg Russian émigrés who was just as keenly concerned about being cut off from Russia.» Balmont called emigration «life among strangers». In terms of creativity, however, this period was marked with an unprecedented flowering of his poetic inspiration, which becomes evident as one leaves through the pages of this stupendous manuscript.
