Held on 14 and 15 July 2026 at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, Hermitage Fine Art's Summer Auctions brought together two dedicated sales of Fine Art and Design & Jewellery, attracting collectors from around the world. The two-day series featured a carefully curated selection of paintings, jewellery and decorative arts, with spirited bidding throughout the sales resulting in several remarkable prices.

Fine Art

The Fine Art auction confirmed the continued strength of the market for both nineteenth- and twentieth-century paintings, with several works attracting strong international interest. The highest result was achieved by Boris Anisfeld's Adam and Eve, which realised €26,000.

Twentieth-century art also performed particularly well, with Arman's Violon spiralé (Violon cubiste No. 2) selling for €7,980 and Eugene Berman's Intérieure, Rideau Vert achieving €7,908. Further highlights included Alexei Korzukhin's Girl Braiding Her Hair, which realised €6,590, alongside David Burliuk's vibrant Vase of Flowers, which sold for €5,200.

Design & Jewellery

The Design & Jewellery auction opened with a strong selection of Russian and European porcelain and silver, reflecting the diversity of the sale. Among the highlights was a magnificent pair of Heilbronn silver six-light candelabra by Peter Bruckmann & Söhne, circa 1900, which realised €8,000.

As the auction progressed, bidding intensified in the jewellery section, particularly for signed pieces and exceptional gemstones. The standout moment came with the sale of an elegant Retro Cartier necklace dating from the 1940s, which opened at €18,000 before sparking fierce competition among collectors from Europe, Asia and the United States, ultimately selling for €52,000 (hammer price).

Rare coloured gemstones also featured prominently throughout the sale, most notably a pair of white gold diamond earrings set with 37.6 ct. Colombian emeralds, which achieved €44,200.

Another highlight was a matching suite comprising a pair of 18K white gold diamond drop earrings (Lot 413) and the accompanying ring (Lot 414), each centred with fancy canary yellow pear-shaped diamonds within a pavé of white diamonds. The earrings realised €21,450, while the ring sold for €13,000.

The sale also featured a refined selection of luxury accessories and vintage fashion. Among them was a rare Van Cleef & Arpels embroidered silk evening clutch from the 1950s–1960s sold for €6,781, a model comparable to one preserved in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The fashion section was further distinguished by an iconic Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld Spring 1995 suit, famously worn on the runway by Claudia Schiffer and later by Margot Robbie in the 2023 film Barbie, attracting considerable interest from collectors of vintage haute couture.

With strong participation across all bidding channels and competitive results throughout both auctions, the July 2026 sales once again demonstrated the sustained international demand for fine art, signed jewellery and exceptional works of craftsmanship.

Following the success of its July auctions, Hermitage Fine Art is now preparing its next sales, to be held in October 2026.
