Provenance:
Grigory Alekseevich Aleksinsky (1879-1967) was a public and political figure and journalist. A Social Democrat at the start of his political career, he later became a counter-revolutionary. Arrested in 1918, he was released on bail and fled abroad. In emigration he held unequivocally anti-Bolshevik views. In 1920 he was convicted in absentia by the Supreme Revolutionary Tribunal in the ‘Tactical Centre’ case, found guilty of counter-revolutionary conspiracy and barred from entering Soviet Russia.
