Ivan Ivanovich Lazarevsky (1880-1948) was an art historian, critic, book designer and connoisseur of antiques. In 1921-1924 he published the journal ‘Sredi kollektsionerov’, the only periodical of its time devoted to old art and to the collecting, preservation and study of collections. This work is devoted to the most important fields of collecting Russian antiquities. The author pays particular attention to the antiquarian book, describing the rarest editions as well as the old Moscow second-hand booksellers whose names are associated with an entire era.
