Renowned for his visionary paintings, he developed a highly distinctive style characterized by fantastical landscapes, celestial skies, winding stairways, and radiant imaginary cities. Blending reality with imagination, his richly detailed compositions have established him as one of the most important figures of modern Haitian painting. His works are held in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Figge Art Museum, and institutions in Haiti.
