Private collection, Europe Alexandra (Alice) Bruschetti-Mitrokhina was a Russian sculptor, ceramic artist, painter, and draughtswoman of Italian origin. She studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under Sergei Volnukhin, Pavel Trubetskoy, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, and Konstantin Korovin, establishing herself as one of the leading figures in the revival of Russian ceramic art. She worked for Savva Mamontov’s Abramtsevo Ceramic Factory before collaborating with the Imperial Porcelain Factory and, after the Revolution, the State Porcelain Factory in Petrograd. Awarded for her porcelain, faience, and majolica works, she is best known for her decorative figurines, particularly her ballet dancers and satirical figures inspired by the revolutionary period. In 1910, she married the painter, printmaker, and illustrator Dmitry Mitrokhin (1883–1973), one of the foremost Soviet masters of printmaking and book illustration.
