Foreword by Edouard Champion This work was printed entirely on the presses of Marcel Popinot, publisher of ″Les Echos Mondains″ of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. Printing completed on 25 January 1930. Paperback, (1) (34), 86 (1) pp., numerous illustrations (some of which are mounted), period advertisements, both in the text and as inserts. In French with an English translation from p.70 onwards. 31.7 x 24.4 x 1.3 cm Worn cover (soiling, a few stains, tears), foxing, one illustration missing. iii) The 1939 ‘Bal des Petits Lits Blancs’, organised by ‘Le Jour – Echo de Paris’ / Palm Beach, Cannes, 22 August 1939. Spiral-bound booklet, unpaginated, approx. 70 pp., in a cardboard slipcase adorned with three small metal coats of arms, numerous illustrations, testimonials and advertisements. This booklet, printed on 21 August 1939, was produced in an edition of 300 copies numbered from 1 to 300; this copy is unnumbered. Established by Léon Bailby, the Bal des Petits Lits Blancs quickly established itself as one of the most prominent social events, bringing together personalities, patrons and artists each year in aid of the charity dedicated to children suffering from bone tuberculosis.
