Trained in the Belgian artistic milieu of the early 20th century, he followed the figurative tradition while developing his own style, paying particular attention to light and atmosphere. Often inspired by Flemish landscapes and genre scenes, his compositions are characterised by a restrained palette and solid spatial construction.
