Vladimir Strelnikov (1911 – February 27, 1981) was a Soviet painter, graphic artist and educator trained at the Odessa Art Institute. He exhibited in Republican and All Union shows from the 1950s and served in World War II. A respected teacher and art theorist, Strelnikov taught in several art schools before focusing on his own work, which often reflects landscapes and everyday scenes rooted in mid 20th century Soviet realism. He is also noted for a theoretical contribution to the ‘fourth law of perspective’. He became a member of the USSR Artists’ Union in 1953 and remained active until his death in 1981.
