Mikhail Vasilievich Kupriyanov (1903–1991) was a Soviet painter, graphic artist, caricaturist, and illustrator best known as part of the legendary artistic trio Kukryniksy, with Porfiri Krylov and Nikolai Sokolov. Trained at VKhUTEMAS in Moscow, he created political cartoons, anti‑fascist posters during World War II, and numerous illustrations and landscapes. Decorated with multiple state honors — including the Lenin Prize and several Stalin Prizes — he was also a full member of the USSR Academy of Arts and a People’s Artist of the USSR. His work is held in major museums and collections in Russia and abroad.
