Icons from the Deesis row of the iconostasis are of considerable interest to collectors. Minor losses do not distort the aesthetics of the ‘high’ iconographic style, which is based on exquisite miniature writing, elongated proportions of figures, a bright colour palette, masterful execution of details and ‘personal’ elements.
