The novel Kolychevskaya Votchina and its sequel, the novel Na Rodnoy Pochve (On Native Soil, 1914), are the writer's major works. The story of family relationships and the gradual decline of a small landed gentry family is traced through the fates of three generations against the backdrop of major historical events.
