Title page and the nine illustrations (eight present) are steel engravings by English engravers after drawings by Russian artists K. Bryullov, M. Vorobyov, G. Chernetsov, and others. Contemporary half-leather binding; leather spine with faded gilt tooling. Condition: good; rubbing to binding, cracks along endpapers, minor soiling from handling, some staining to lower margins, light foxing, one plate lacking. Ownership inscription dated 1917 and stamp “Z Ksiegozbioru Bohdana Galtsera” on the front free endpaper. Includes works by A. V. Koltsov, E. P. Rostopchin, P. A. Vyazemsky, N. V. Kukolnik, among others. Provenance: from the library of Bohdan Galtser (1931–1994), Polish scholar and professor of the humanities, specialist in Russian literature of the first half of the 19th century.
