Small scratches, blunt corners, spines of some volumes with small wormholes, some foxing and interior soiling. One of the Belgian counterfeits of this novel, published at the same time as the original Parisian edition. The Belgian publisher appears to have followed the first Parisian edition, since in the second edition of 1846 the spelling of 'Monte-Christo' changed to 'Monte-Cristo', and in this edition it became 'Montecristo'. All first editions of this novel are rare.
