signed and dated in pencil 'AB 1927' (lower right), inscribed and dated ‘Le Coq D’Or’ (upper left) watercolour, ink, pencil on paper 23.5 x 15.5 cm executed in 1927 In 1927, Alexandre Benois designed the sets and costumes for Le Coq d'Or at the Paris Opéra (Palais Garnier). Choreography was by Albert Aveline, and the performance was conducted by Nicolas Tcherepnine.
