porcelain, underglaze decoration, gilding D. 22 cm Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, a Russian prince and field marshal, distinguished himself during the Napoleonic Wars and by leading the Russian conquest of the Caucasus from 1844 to 1853. The service was commissioned by Vorontsov After Paris was occupied by Allied troops. Two vases from this service are kept in the Vorontsov Palace in Alupka.
