Magnificent necklace with pendant featuring a bird of paradise motif accented by multicolored sapphires and round diamonds in 18k yellow gold Hallmarks: ‘750’, assay marks L. total approximately 45 cm gross weight: 17.50 gr. Limited series, in its suede pouch, with certificate of authenticity Birds, embodying a free and dynamic nature, have been a recurring theme throughout the history of Van Cleef & Arpels. Since the 1910s, diamond feathers and birds have adorned jacket lapels and hat tops. Birds continue to inspire Van Cleef & Arpels, with the brand capturing the suspended flight of hummingbirds and the vibrant colours of exotic bird feathers. Depictions of lovebirds as a family on a branch rub shoulders with images of birds of paradise displaying their courtship rituals, or birds breaking free from their cages, as seen in the 1940s.
