signed by the artist ‘Picasso’ (lower right); inscribed ‘H.C.’ (lower left); dated in plate '27.4.68.I' (upper left); dedicated ‘A Marc et Françoise avec la fidèle amitié de Landa Crommelynck’, inscribed in pencil ‘BL 1535 – BB 1551’ (on the reverse) etching on wove paper 27.7 x 38.5 cm (image), 34 x 43.5 cm (sheet, à vue) Provenance: Collection of Landa Crommelynck, widow of Aldo Crommelynck (Born in Monaco in 1931 – 2008), Belgian master printmaker who collaborated with Picasso and many important European and American artists of the 20th century; Private collection, South of France Between 16 March and 5 October 1968, Picasso, aged 87, produced a series of engravings at his villa in Mougins on themes close to his heart: circus, women, eroticism, Spain, his artistic references Rembrandt, El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Ingres or Manet... The exhibition of these works in December 1968 at the Louise Leiris gallery in Paris bore the title ‘Trois cent quarante-sept gravures’ which gave its name to the series ‘Les 347’, printed in an edition of 50 copies by the Atelier Crommelynck and signed by the artist.
