Paris, Michel Lévy Frères, MDCCCLX [1860] 2 volumes small in4 of VIII-359 and 384 pages. 27,3 x 19 x 4 cm First edition and first printing of the 50 plates of costumes from the Commedia dell'arte, here in their coloured version. Bound in half green chagrin, spine ribbed and decorated, slightly faded, one corner a little blunted, usual spotting and brown spots but a fine copy [Arnold à Lille]. In French. Jean-François-Maurice-Arnauld, baron Dudevant, known as Maurice Sand French writer, entomologist and painter. He is the son of the novelist and writer George Sand.
