He moved to Barcelona in 1850, where he opened a jeweller's shop and quickly gained a reputation for the quality of his goldsmith's work, which was favoured by Barcelona's high society. He became a supplier to the royal household and made several pieces for Isabel II, including a tiara and a diamond necklace, both of which are classified as works that are difficult to surpass.
