Thursday 13/25 March, at 9 1/4 a.m. Letter on folded sheet, 4pp. Embossed imperial monogrammed paper, walnut ink. 18.5 x 12 cm The Tsar informs his Katya that the hunt has ended sooner than he had anticipated, and that he is eager to be reunited with his ‘friend’... Alexander II writes about accident that happened to Katya and speaks of his feelings about the evening together, and recalls their “bingerles”: ‘I am relieved that the accident with the horse, which fell into your carriage, «...», happened «...», but I did not see you and «...» that you had already passed long ago. You will see from my letter that I was absolutely assured that we had both kept the same fond impression of our delightful evening and our delirious bingerles.’ (from French)
