VLADIMIR IVANOVICH NAZANSKY (1877-1939) was the last assistant to the Moscow city governor, a colonel of the cavalry artillery of the Imperial Russian Army. From 1910 to 1915, he served as an assistant to the governor of Baku and performed the duties of a police chief. A chronicle of historical events based on data from historical archives, personal recollections, accounts of eyewitnesses, and participants in the events. A significant portion of the documents referred to by the author were destroyed in a fire during the Nazi occupation of Paris during World War II.
