Anna Alexandrovna Vyroubova (1884-1964) was a Russian lady-in-waiting, maid of honor to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, and an intermediary between the imperial family and Grigori Rasputin. In 1920, she emigrated to Finland, where she became a nun and spent 44 years in seclusion. A. Vyroubova was buried in Helsinki at the Orthodox cemetery.
In 1927-1928, the "Diary of A.A. Vyroubova" was published in the journal "Minuvshiye Gody," which turned out to be a literary hoax. Its actual authors were A.N. Tolstoy and historian P.E. Shchegolev.
"Pages from My Life" contains the authentic memoirs of Anna Vyroubova. Subsequent editions of the book were heavily edited, making this edition the most complete and truthful account of the events that took place in the early 20th century.
Authentic memoirs of Anna Vyroubova, the only complete edition without censorship cuts. A rarity.
