"Faust" is a tragedy by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, translated into Russian by Boris Pasternak. This edition, published by Goslitizdat in 1953, features illustrations and design by the artist A. Goncharov. It is the most famous and the latest translation of Goethe's tragedy into Russian. The book is in excellent condition, with only an owner's inscription on the front flyleaf. Pasternak Boris Leonidovich (1890-1960) was a Russian poet, writer, and one of the greatest poets of the 20th century. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1958.
