One of the earliest autographs of the poet in the book. A great rarity.
The first anthology of poems by Osip Mandelstam. The publication of "Kamen" was a "family affair" - the money for publishing the book was provided by his father. The entire print run was consigned to the Popov-Yasny bookstore on the corner of Nevsky Avenue and Fontanka. "From time to time, my brother sent me to find out how many copies had been sold, and when I reported that forty-two books had already been sold, it was celebrated at home as a holiday. In terms of the scale of that time in the conditions of the book market, it sounded like the poet's first recognition by readers" (according to the memoirs of his younger brother, Evgeny Yakovlevich Mandelstam (1898-1979)).
The first book with the author's autograph.
