Very interesting manuscript on the collusion between the banks, the government and the Chamber during the Madagascar, Tunisian and Panamanian affairs: as he had predicted, the Madagascar expedition concealed "some good financial operation", in this case for the Comptoir d'Escomte. The same was true of the Tunisian affair, where the Franco-Egyptian Bank, of which Charles Ferry was a director, made a killing thanks to Jules Ferry, who took him
to the Assize Court for having denounced the affair. In both cases, it was the taxpayer who paid. Panama had its corrupter, Jacques Von Reinach and his 104 corrupt parliamentarians "that Dupuy persists in keeping hidden from us". "Following the Secretan Krack, Denfert Rochereau burnt his brains and the Rothschilds had to make huge sacrifices. "It's the least our government can do to
spare them another ten million or so" for which we are going to spend 250 million.
Victor Henri de Rochefort-Luçay, better known as Henri Rochefort, was a French journalist, pamphleteer, playwright and politician.
