To Annelotti Unger in Hellerau near Dresden: "[...] Herzlichen Dank für Ihren lieben Brief. Meine Bücher kommen wohl bald in neuen Ausgaben heraus [...]" "[...] Many thanks for your kind letter. My books will probably soon be published in new editions [...]" Sven Hedin was a Swedish geographer, topographer, explorer, photographer, travel writer and an illustrator of his own works. In four expeditions to Central Asia, he discovered the Transhimalaya (named the Hedin Mountains after him), the sources of the Brahmaputra, Indus and Sutlej rivers, Lake Lop Nor, as well as remains of cities, burial sites and the Great Wall of China in the deserts of the Tarim Basin. Sven Hedin was the last person to receive Swedish knighthood, raised to the untitled nobility by King Oskar II in 1902. President of the National Academy of Science of Sweden. As such, who will have a prominent part in the selection of the future Nobel prize winners.
