1) Confirmation of registration of the ‘Society of the Northmen’ issued by the Prefecture of Paris in the name of its President General Miller. October 10, 1924. 2) The Charter of the Society of the Northmen’. 8 p.; 21, 5x13,5 cm. Miller Yevgeny Karlovich (1867-1939) - Russian military leader, Lieutenant General; head of the White movement in Northern Russia in 1919-1920, commander-in-chief of all land and sea armed forces of Russia (Northern Army), fighting against the Soviet government at the Northern front. Was kidnapped in Paris and taken by the agents of the NKVD to Moscow, convicted and executed. The Society of the Northmen was founded in Paris by initiative of General E.K. Miller. The mission of the Society included: the organization of the relationship between the ‘northerners’ (immigrants from the Northern area - an administrative -territorial unit comprising the Arkhangelsk province and the Murmansk region) and providing them with various types of assistance. An Editorial Commission headed By N.V. Tchaikovsky and S.N. Gorodetsky, Chairman of the Arkhangelsk district court, was established in the Society.The Commission was to collect documents and other materials directly related to the history of the Northern area. The society had its own silver simbol in the form of St. Andrew’s cross with a double-headed eagle above.
