Instructions given to the General Count Sergei Stroganov.
Nesselrode sends Stroganov to the Austrian Emperor to express to him a deep sorrow experienced by His Majesty because of the death of the Empress Maria Feodorovna, sister-in-law of the Austrian emperor. The mission is not political. However, Stroganov will also have to restore the truth about the war with the Turks and about the military
operations in the Black Sea.
An important document during Nicholas I’s time.
