Provenance: On the upper lids there is a gold color super bookplate of the Empress Maria Fedorovna: a two-headed eagle with the two small shields on his chest, on right side - the Russian state emblem, on left sid - württemberg, both emblems surrounded by the ribbon and order of St. Catherine. On the flyleaf there is a paper bookplate of the library of the Pavlovsk Palace. Maria Feodorovna, like her husband, Pavel Petrovich, was a great lover of literature. In addition to the main library, which was loca-ted in the Pavlovsk Palace and contained 7097 titles (20895 volumes), Maria Feodorovna also had her own library in the Palace in Gatchina. After the death of Paul I, by order of Maria Feodorovna, the books of her husband remaining in the Palace were merged with her own Gatchina library.
