Attached are two typewritten articles, probably by the same author, The Emigrant Movement in Russia and the Anti-Alcohol Movement in Russia. The manuscript includes travel notes and impressions of a foreigner who traveled around Russia in May-August 1914. Having begun his journey in St. Petersburg, the author studied in detail the Urals, Kyrgyzstan, Bashkiria and Altai. The paper presents detailed information on different areas of life in Russian regions, the author is interested in Ural mining, Kyrgyz steppes and salt lakes, mining of coal, copper, diamonds in Bashkiria, as well as social aspects of life: population of large cities, standard of living, wages, banks, museums and libraries, hospitals and even football clubs and sports.
