Along with Pissaro, Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, Luce was one of the founders of the Neo-Impressionist School. He realized this painting in 1908, a year before he was elected Vice President of the Société des Artistes Indépendants. Temporary exportation, a subject to import tax.
