French pistol with intlock, circa 1800.
Overall length - 46.4 cm; barrel - 27.4 cm; caliber - 1.4 cm.
The gun consists of a stock, a barrel, a intlock and a brass instrument. The pistol’s box is massive, made of brown wood (walnut) with a long, muzzle end with a ramrod entrance. The ramrod is wooden. The front section of the muzzle in the breech is decorated with vertical grooves. The barrel is attached to the bed with two studs and a screw in the shank. As a sighting device, the gun is equipped with a rounded-shaped brass front sight. There is an inscription on the barrel; the name of the master «BROUTET». An ornamented brass gilded shield is attached to the upper part of the handle. Flint lock, shock type is xed in the box with two screws. There is an inscription of the name of the master: “FRECON”.
