Sword of Russian civil of cials during the reign of Nicholas I.
Total length - 90 cm: blade length - 77.5; blade width at the heel - 1.8 cm.
The steel blade is two-edged and four-sided. The blade in this example is from a later period. The hilt consists of a handle with a brass, gilded, curved lion head and gilded brass guard. In the middle part of the handle there is an oval ornamented rosette decora- ted with the monogram of the Emperor of Russia Nicholas I - “N I” under the Imperial crown. From the cross from the exterior side there is an oval shield, decorated with a relief image of the Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire in the form of a two-headed eagle under the Imperial crown (used from 1825 to 1831); from the interior there is a small oval, gured shield, with a relief ornament and a monogram of the Emperor of Russia Nicholas I - “N I” under the Imperial crown. Leather sheath, black with brass gilded device, consisting of an ornamented mouth with a gure peg. The tip is missing. Russia, 1825 - 1831. Condition: good
